How UNRWA perpetuates conflict in the Middle East

UNRWA Series: Part 1
9

It’s time to confront the harsh reality: UNRWA is not just flawed; it is fundamentally dangerous.

For those who may be unaware, UNRWA , stands for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees, and began operating in 1950. It is funded mostly by UN member states with the intention of providing education, health care, and social services.

In reality, UNRWA perpetuates the conflict by employing radicals who teach hate, and by helping to obscure terrorist plots and infrastructure. At times, members of UNRWA we’ve recently learned have also directly participated in terrorist acts.

Let’s look at the facts:

(1) UNRWA is designed to line the pockets of its participants. It’s a sick business who’s only product is amplifying Palestinian and Israeli suffering.

UNRWA automatically registers descendants of Palestinian refugees in perpetuity, so the number of refugees has grown from 700,000 to 5.9MM Palestinians since UNRWA began operating. Fewer then 5% of registered refugees meet the criteria that the UN applies to refugees from all other global conflicts.

The UN Refugee Agency has 18,000 staff to serve over 100MM refugees. By contrast, UNRWA employs 30,000 staff to serve 5.9MM Palestinians. UNRWA makes no efforts to resettle refugees and to find long term solutions.

(2) UNRWA does not recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization, despite the US (it’s main funder) designating it one in 1997.

The agency therefore continues to hire Hamas members and affiliates who use the organization as an extension of their political and military wing. Many of you reading this help pay for it.

(3) UNRWA’s curriculum is deeply antisemitic and indoctrinates future generations to hate Jews while glorifying violence and jihad.

Here, you’ll find lots of evidence to support this claim.

(4) Despite all of this, the US and other UN member nations, continue to fund it.

Biden resumed full funding for UNRWA in 2021 and asked for no concessions to address any of these issues. Over $6 billion has been funded by the US alone, and most either ended up in the pockets of terrorists or helped erect terror tunnels.

So, what should be done?

Maccabee Nation correspondent

makes a passionate argument that it should be dismantled.

The only question I have, is why hasn’t it been already? The grift is so obvious and unjust that we have a duty to unmask who is benefiting.
